Passion for what you do and an appreciation for it - win, lose, or (fighting) draw - will always win out over hand-wringing and bean-counting (#2). Also, good on you for posting on the social interaction part (#4) - everybody has their own methods and if you need to focus on the task at hand at tournaments, it's better to just let other people know ahead of time.
