Thanks for the comment, the donation and the suggestion! I have a bunch of ideas for future months, but will definitely keep yours in mind.

Really interesting project. Wasn't able to donate an incredible amount since I'm a student, but happy to do what I can for such a worthy group.

Best of luck to your sister and everyone at 9 Queens.

Thanks for your blog; looks like you've selected some really interesting charities.

Another cool project to consider is One Laptop Per Child ( http://laptop.org/en/participate/ways-to-give.shtml ).

While it's a fairly established organization, the impact one person can make with a single donation is very tangible. Anyways, I know you mentioned wanting suggestions at some point; and I personally can't imagine not having access to a computer or the internet.

So yeah, keep up the great work. And as a side note, I really enjoy the videos... (I've been watching them in reverse order. so it was entertaining how long I was wondering what the hell you were doing with that excel spreadsheet (I would guess somewhere between 5-10 eps. before it became apparent :P ))

peace,
Chris

Did you see this article by Kristof in the New York Times? I was thinking this may be my Holiday charity this year. http://kristof.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/10/31/a-heroic-doctor-a-global-scourge/

There are two places Kristoff recommends to give to though and I can't figure out which one is better:

http://www.wfmic.org/
or
http://www.fistulafoundation.org/about/mission.html

How to make such decisions?

Hey Greg- you asked me to post this message passed on to me by a member of Carole Frampton's congregation:

I have two organizations that really need the help of your benevolent friend.

One was all over the news – WEAVE – Women Empowered against Violence. They almost had to shut their doors and the founder came back and raised $150K in less than 2 weeks. I am having a ‘thank you’ event at my home on Dec 1st for those who saved WEAVE if your friend would like to attend.

The other is SMYAL – Sexual Minority Youth League. www.SMYAL.org

PLEASE let me know what I can do to get these organizations in front of your friend.
Thanks tons!

All good things,
Heather
